It is August and time for a new school year to begin. What will this academic year have in store? A whole lot of new. And different. This year will be unlike any other given the current global circumstances. New and different can be stressful and anxiety-inducing, but it can also be exciting and fun and invigorating. I tend to focus on the latter. It’s just who I am. So it’s time for a new beginning.
Part of that new beginning? This blog. My talented and wonderful colleague, Katelynn McBride Barbosa, moved on to new professional adventures a few months ago. The blog was dormant for a while, but now I will attempt to fill her incredibly large shoes. She dedicated enormous amounts of time and energy to make this a fabulous resource. I, too, hope to accomplish the same end – a useful resource that provides information, ideas and hopefully some inspiration. But I am no Katelynn.
I am Ali. So the blog will change accordingly.
I hope you will join me in this new online beginning. In the coming weeks and months, new content will be featured regularly from a variety of sources and guest authors. Suggestions for future posts are most welcome! Click on Contact in the main navigation menu to send in thoughts, ideas and anything you would like to share.
As we start this new school year, I will share the words I say quite often. When it comes to school, life, relationships…anything, really. Live your life, not someone else’s. Tune out the chatter and the noise. Don’t compare yourself to others. Do it your way. If you let others define the rules and the game, then you’re not living your own life. Just do you. You are enough.
Until you read again…
