The biggest career fair in the Midwest is taking place in February and you’re invited to bid for interviews!
Bidding for the Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference (MPILCC) is open tomorrow, Wednesday January 2, at 12 central/1 eastern through Wednesday, January 9 at 3 central/4 eastern and all Notre Dame students are eligible to bid. All Notre Dame Law students have already received an email from MPILCC inviting you to set up an MPILCC symplicity account and to bid on interviews at the career fair.
Employers will be interviewing 3Ls for postgraduate positions, 1Ls for 1L summer positions, and 2Ls for 2L summer positions so if you’re looking for a public interest or government job in the Midwest for next summer or after graduation, you should definitely participate. This is a huge career fair where hundreds of interviews are conducted and many employers throughout the Midwest attend. It will take place on Saturday, February 2 at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in downtown Chicago.
Some of the employers who interviewed at the conference and career fair last year include the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, Cook County State’s Attorney’s office, Illinois Commerce Commission, Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Office of the Chief Counsel Department of Homeland Security ICE, U.S. Department of Education, and many others.
If you are at all interested in working in the Midwest either next summer or after graduation, this is not an opportunity to pass up. Some organizations do all of their hiring exclusively at MPILCC.
If you do not want to participate, you can ignore the emails. If you do want to participate, sign up for an MPILCC symplicity account using the instructions in the email. Don’t delay. Bidding closes on January 10 so if you’re interested, sign up on symplicity ASAP.
Registration for the conference is free. Unfortunately, no funding is available to assist with travel expenses to the conference.
CDO counselors are happy to speak with you about the career conference and fair, assist you with your bidding strategy, and to review application materials for you.
