Weekly Docket

This week’s weekly docket is on the shorter side due to the resume and cover letter push for OCI. There is a 2L job opportunity at the U.S. Senate Office of the Legislative Counsel, two 3L job opportunities, and a conference and networking event for 3L women.

3L Job Opportunity: EJW Application Open Today

If you want to create your dream public interest job to work for a non-profit of your choosing doing a two-year project that you design, and earn $50,000/year, apply for an Equal Justice Works Fellowship. The application just opened up today and closes on September 27, 2017. If you’re a 3L interested in pursuing public interest work even a little bit, reach out to me and schedule an appointment to talk about fellowships. Do so sooner rather than later.

The EJW application process has several parts, including multiple essays where you describe your project and public interest background. I am happy to help you craft excellent essays but keep in mind that I am out of the office from August 31 through all of September getting married and going on my honeymoon so if you want me to be able to go through your essay drafts with you, plan to send them to me as soon as possible and by August 28 at the latest.

You can check out EJW’s fellowship guide here to get an overview of what it is about. Be sure to schedule an appointment with me if you’re thinking of applying.

EJW has set up several webinars to give candidates the chance to learn more about the application process and how to craft an excellent application:

All sessions will occur from 3-4 pm EST. Register here.
