Are you interested in working for a private firm or did you recently accept an offer to join a private firm but you are hoping to do pro bono work too? It’s possible! Do you want to begin your career in a private firm and then leave to do public interest work down the line. That’s possible too!
This coming Monday, October 10, lawyers who have done both of those things will join us as part of Public Interest Month for a talk on “Integrating Pro Bono Into Private Practice.”
Specifically, John Storino, a Partner at Jenner & Block in Chicago will talk about his life at the firm and how he has built a substantial pro bono practice into his work. Sara Gilloon, Staff Attorney at The Family Defense Center, will discuss how she integrated pro bono work into her practice while working at a big firm in Chicago and then used that experience to transition into public interest work full-time.
The talk is in 1130 Eck Hall of Law at 12:30 and the CDO will provide free pizza. This talk satisfies Galilee participants’ requirement.
Beyond this talk, Public Interest Month is in full swing next week with events Monday-Thursday.
